It is important to get relevant summer jobs and internship while you are taking your education. It will allow you to build a network in the industry and get some work practice.

When you are fresh out of college one of the primary things you lack is possible relevant experience. The first job could be very though to get without any relevant experience. Your diploma and your grades will be the only thing you present. Then if your grades are not outstanding it will be even more difficult to get that job you need so much.

Getting experience outside the academic world is also valuable because it lets you build a network out in the industry where you will work after the studies are completed. Possible you could also be getting the first job after the college in one of the companies you have worked in during the studies.

Some programs or schools do not focus very much on these things, but if that is the case one must self try to make it happen.
